Your phone is a pocket computer. Here is how mobile public IPs work on LTE and 5G and how to check them on each platform.
Home router IPs change relatively slowly. Mobile data IPs change constantly as you move between cell towers. IPv4 scarcity also means carriers use CGNAT (Carrier-Grade NAT) to place thousands of subscribers behind one shared mobile public IP.
**Samsung Galaxy (Android):** - Settings → About phone → Status information → IP address (often 10.x.x.x on cellular). **Apple iPhone (iOS):** - On cellular without Wi-Fi, Settings → General → About — iOS often does not show cellular private IP. For accurate public IP, visit U-Star IP in the browser.
If a forum or game blocks your IP unfairly, toggle airplane mode: turn it on, wait five seconds, turn it off. The new cell session usually assigns a different IP and may lift the restriction.
